Color formers, which are widely used in Thermal Recording and Carbonless copy paper, work through a reversible reaction to acid. Crystal violet lactone has been used in thermal recording paper for more than a half-century. Additionally they are now used, for example, in fax paper, cash register and ATM receipts, labels for food products and distribution control, in a variety of tickets including train, entrance and lottery tickets.
Color formers, a key component in thermal recording papers, contributed to the development of these print-imaging technologies and to screen imaging technologies.
Recently, products such as, thermo-indicators, rewritable thermal recording paper have been developed using color formersf property of reversible color formation. Rewritable thermal recording along with electronic paper are particularly in the spotlight as imaging print technologies. Both of which are gentle on the environment. To meet our customers latest needs, we have been developing excellent color formers through synthetic technology and molecular engineering, which have a wide range of color tones and reversible color formation.

Thermo-indicators
Thermo-indicators created by combining color former, developers and development control agent in microcapsules to form inks or paints. They make print appear and disappear between set temperature parameters. It is possible to cause a change in color and the temperature at which the color appears by changing the combination of materials in the microcapsules. This is used on the sides of drink cans to indicate temperature and in toys.

Rewritable Thermal Recording
Through changes in printing temperature, we control color former and amorphous crystals of desensitizer to make print appear and disappear. Because we can rewrite on the paper it is used, for example, for shop point cards.
